Kenny is a fire engineering consultant with over 12 years’ experience of dealing with projects in Scotland. The more notable ones include the Silverburn Mall, the new £640 million Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow; Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (RHSC + DCN) in Edinburgh. He is also passionate about historic building design and has acted as fire engineer on many.
He was once a Building Standards Surveyor and worked for several Scottish Local Authorities. This has given him an excellent understanding of the Scottish Building Control system and fire related issues. He was also a board member of the RICS (Scotland Building Control Professional Group) for a number of years and spent a period as vice chair. The group is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the future of the Building Control specialism and for identifying and serving the information needs of its members. Kenny is based in Glasgow and deals with projects throughout the UK.
